We hired Roofix because they had hundreds of 5 star reviews. However, our project turned into a 5 month ordeal from the outset and I would not recommend this company.
Before work began, I clearly informed the company that I have a dakraam on the extension to our house which needed protection from falling debris. They said "Our team will take specific precautions to protect it, using protective boards and heavy-duty padding/ plastic sheeting to prevent any damage or debris from affecting the glass or the frame while work is in progress.". In reality, none of these materials were brought to site, they just started working without taking any responsibility for protecting the window, and we had to improvise using whatever materials we had in the house, placing it ourselves.
The main roofing work itself was completed over two days (Saturday and Sunday) and was generally acceptable, but there were several issues. 1) One part of the agreed scope of work, which I ultimately paid for, was not completed, despite several requests to remedy this for weeks after the inital work was completed. 2) During the work, they removed existing lead flashing from my neighbour’s dakkapel and stated it needed replacing. While it may have indeed needed replacing, this should have been discussed with us and the neighbour first. We instructed them to reinstall it so we could handle that conversation properly, but they claimed this was impossible because the material had already been discarded into the building container and buried under other debris. 3) Some of the tiles they installed were broken which was pointed out to us by a new roofing company we had to bring in. 4) They charged for an additional 167 roof tiles than were not used.
Immediately after completing the work, they demanded full payment, which I paid. However, the aftermath was highly unprofessional. The building container, unused roof tiles, a fall protection device attached to my house, and leftover wood were all left in front of my property for weeks. Despite repeated follow ups every few days, communication was poor and no clear timeline was provided for removal. We eventually sold almost 200 roof tiles on Maarktplaats which they didn't bother to collect.
Ultimately, I had to involve legal representation to engage with Roofix. Before taking that step, I gave them plenty of opportunities to resolve the situation directly, including contacting them multiple times and submitting a formal complaint through their own complaints procedure. Despite this, they failed to engage meaningfully or respond to the issues raised. My lawyer then sent several formal letters escalating the matter through multiple stages, but the company still did not respond. This eventually forced me to hire another roofing company to complete the outstanding work. I was only compensated financially through my legal representative, not from Roofix.
Overall, what should have been a straightforward two day job in January 2026 turned into a prolonged and frustrating five month experience. I would strongly advise others to look elsewhere for a roofing company.
