TL;DR: Esther is experienced, proactive, an excellent negotiator and genuinely invested in her clients. She made what felt like an impossible first-home search achievable, and I got my money’s worth. I couldn’t recommend her enough!
I recently had the pleasure of working with Esther for what I felt (and heard) was an almost impossible set of criteria given the housing market in The Hague—a “low” budget as a single woman who wanted something more than a studio.
For context, I’d previously worked with another makelaar, which wasn’t the best experience, so I knew exactly what I didn’t want. From our first meeting, there was a VERY clear difference. Esther has YEARS of experience, knowledge and the connections to match. She grounded me in reality but wasn’t intimidated by the challenge of my circumstances whatsoever.
Although searching was a mutual effort, she was quick to get started. the next morning after I signed with her, she’d already scoured every available resource, spoken to selling agents on my behalf and spared me the energy of chasing dead leads—Incredibly efficient!
The home I ended up getting was actually one she suggested I view, even though I feared I wouldn’t get it. She was a great partner throughout the search, and her ability to negotiate and limit overbidding is impressive.
She was also incredibly wise throughout the bidding process, helping me make informed decisions without getting carried away. On top of that, she was quick to connect me with the right mortgage advisor and technical inspector, which made the whole process that much smoother. She consistently checked in, was always quick to respond and, unlike with my previous makelaar, I rarely ever had to chase her for anything. I genuinely felt like I got my money’s worth!
Even after the sale, she’s continued to be a great support in ensuring we got what we asked for.
Honestly, I could go on and on (more than I already have 😅) but essentially, I can’t recommend Esther enough. If you want a no-nonsense makelaar who gets the job done, she’s the woman for the job.
Thank you for helping me get my first home, Esther. I am forever grateful!
