Parquet and skirting installation issue by Hisspa Parquet
Our experience with Hisspa Parquet, specialists in wood parquet floors, has been extremely disappointing, especially considering that we were returning clients.
When Hisspa Parquet was still growing as a business, we trusted them with the installation of parquet flooring and wooden staircases throughout our home in Rotterdam. At the time, we were satisfied with the work and even supported the company publicly. My husband wrote a positive Google review because we genuinely wanted to help the business grow and gain visibility.
Because of that positive experience, we decided to hire Hisspa Parquet again for another large and costly parquet and staircase project. Unfortunately, this experience has been completely different.
In our experience, the quality of the parquet flooring and skirting installation delivered has not met the standard we expected from a professional parquet specialist this has been confirmed by a Dutch registered renovation inspector who came to assess the quality of the work as an independent assessor. Several elements appear unfinished or improperly executed, and the overall finish has been deeply disappointing.
What has been even more concerning is the customer service and communication. In our experience, the communication became extremely difficult and, rather than focusing on constructive solutions, we encountered rigidity and a lack of transparency regarding certain decisions and costs.
As returning clients who had previously supported and promoted Hisspa Parquet, this has been a very frustrating and disappointing experience.
We note the company's response that this matter is currently the subject of legal proceedings. We therefore will not comment on the legal aspects of the dispute in this review. This review reflects our genuine experience as customers regarding the workmanship, communication, and overall service we received, and is shared so that other consumers can make an informed decision.
One final observation we would like to share with other consumers is that this experience has shown us how important it is to fully understand your contractual rights and obligations before starting a renovation project in the Netherlands, particularly if Dutch is not your first language.
In our experience, the legal and contractual framework can be difficult for consumers to navigate, while contractors are often far more familiar with it and use it as a tool to extort money from consumer. This can create a significant imbalance, leaving consumers unprotected. We therefore encourage anyone undertaking renovation work to carefully review all contracts, quotations, specifications, timelines, and costs, to ensure every variation is confirmed in writing, to keep detailed records of all communications, and to seek independent legal or technical advice whenever concerns arise.
We also believe that the existence of ongoing legal proceedings should not discourage consumers from sharing honest, fact-based accounts of their own experiences. Consumers have every right to describe the quality of the work they received and the service they experienced, provided they do so truthfully and fairly. We hope our experience encourages others to document every stage of a renovation project and to make informed decisions before committing to significant works.
Based on our experience, we unfortunately cannot recommend Hisspa Parquet for parquet flooring, skirting installation, or staircase work.
