Atelier NIRIS

Voor ons monumentale project heeft Atelier NIRIS ons uitstekend begeleid. Het vergunningstraject was complex, maar dankzij hun professionaliteit, duidelijke communicatie en grondige kennis verliep alles opvallend soepel. We waarderen vooral hun volharding richting de gemeente, altijd respectvol en oplossingsgericht. Dat gaf veel rust tijdens het proces. Ook hun interieurontwerp was indrukwekkend: een mooie balans tussen het historische karakter en moderne, functionele oplossingen. Kortom: betrouwbaar, deskundig en creatief. Wij raden Atelier NIRIS zeker aan.

I knew I had found the right firm the moment I received the proposal from Ms. Sun Xichen (the architect of Atelier NIRIS). Compared with proposals from other well-recommended architects, what set her apart was how seriously she approached even a small project. Her proposal had the level of detail you’d expect from a big firm pitching for a large assignment: a clear plan, transparent line-item quotation with options, an introduction to her team members, and examples of their previous work. All of this for a modest job—applying for a permit to build dormer windows. Working with Xichen has been a wonderful experience. I truly felt I was getting big-firm quality with personal attention and a reasonable price (she previously worked for several renowned architecture firms in the Netherlands). Even more impressive is her work ethic, which is rare to find in this market: she responds quickly, communicates clearly, and is consistently supportive. She is highly intelligent, has a great personality, understands requirements immediately, and is quick to propose practical solutions. A breath of fresh air. Xichen’s professional expertise helped us successfully navigate the entire government process. She guided us through obtaining old blueprints from the archive, advised on design, handled the permit application on our behalf, and communicated efficiently with the authorities. She went above and beyond to perfect the drawings with meticulous detail, reducing the number of revisions typically required for a building permit. This saved us valuable time and effort. Thank you! And just to show the level of quality she delivers even for a small project, I’ve attached some of her drawings. Ms. Sun's firm Atelier NIRIS is still a relatively young firm, just 7–8 years in. Now is the time to work with them—before they become famous and in much higher demand. 😉

We hired Atelier NIRIS for our house renovation and extension. The permit application was difficult from the Gemeente side, but Ms. Sun fully cooperated with their requirements and went along until the end. The result of the renovation looks very refreshing, and our family is delighted with it!
