I strong don’t recommend this company, especially to students.
People from this company also offer rentals for students. I was one of them. I was living in the house that was falsely advertised as a student home. However, there were also non-students there. Even though there was zero tolerance for drugs in the house, these tenants were under influence often. One of them was getting aggressive on multiple occasions. I asked for help multiple times, however the company never took action.
On top of that, before signing the contract, an agent told me that there will is a little renovation planned. It was supposed to be fast and I was also promised to get a sink at the end of it, so I agreed to the renovations. Unfortunately, the renovations didn’t end fast, but took months. During the works the house was awfully dirty, continuously filled with dust and one of the windows got ruined, thus the cold air was coming into the house. I was promised that the extra heating costs caused by it will be compensated, however at the end of my lease the agent backed off out of it, pretending not to remember it.
Multiple things in the house broke, like a washing machine and a drier. We also had a leak in the roof. The drier has never been fixed during my lease, it lasted months. Same with the leakage. We were asking for it to be fixed especially because it happened during winter and so the heating costs went up as the house couldn’t hold the warmth. Again, we didn’t get the support, and the roof was fixed only after weeks and weeks of begging for assistance.
Lastly, after I moved out, I struggled to get my deposit. I got it way after the due date. The agent was telling me that the reason of the deposit not being sent was the agent’s sister’s illness. I do not think it’s a professional not legal explanation.
My overall rental experience was terrible. I was ignored, the rules were not transparent. For example, I was told that I must give three months of notice to move out even though the law says that I am allowed to give just one. There was also a time when one of the agents threatened that they will take half of my deposit because of the heating costs. I would of course pay for any extra costs, however I was never given the bills for electricity, heating etc during my rental period. I’m only a student, this was my very first experience of renting. I do not recommend the services of this company.
