Several significant errors during our property purchase process have made what should have been a smooth transaction unnecessarily stressful and complicated: Scheduling Issues:The initially agreed appointment date was changed, which while understandable, led to a double-booking situation where we arrived to find another appointment scheduled at the same time. Last-Minute Documentation Requests: Despite initiating this process 2.5 months in advance, we received a request for verification documents from Nationale Notaris just two days before the scheduled transfer. Missing Municipal Taxes: On the day of transfer, we discovered that municipal taxes had not been included in the original invoice, requiring an immediate correction and additional payment during the appointment. Billing Error: One week after completion, we received correspondence stating that “Nationale Waarborg” costs had not been paid and requesting additional payment. We promptly paid this amount. However, upon reviewing the original documentation, we discovered these costs had already been included in our initial invoice from Notaris. After several email exchanges, the error was acknowledged but after 6 weeks of transfer date we haven’t received the refund yet. This is truly unprofessional Property transactions represent one of the most significant financial decisions in a person’s life. While isolated errors can occur, experiencing multiple procedural mistakes throughout a single transaction is unacceptable.
